Q)What was the original inspiration for Veggietrek? We were looking to make a film that was a) funny b) funny. We just thought it would be absolutly hilarious to have these vegtables in the place of the crew in Star Trek. Our friend Bora came with the original idea to do a spoof based on the TNG episode "Best of Both Worlds" Q) How difficult was it to do? How'd you put it all together? We shot the film with a Super 8 camera, which is actually ancient technology, and shot the movie itself just like any cartoon would be made: frame by frame. The characters are sewn together out of cardboard. We animated over a period of 3 days aproximatly. Q) How fanatical of a Trekkie are you? We're big fans of Star Trek, but at the same time, it's fun to make spoofs like this just to laugh at the quirks of a sci-fi television series. Q) What kind of response have you gotten to Veggietrek? Do you get angry emails? Do you get fan mail? What's typical? Veggie Trek isn't Star Trek or Star Wars, but it has received much more recognition than we anticipated. There's been good response, which has encouraged us to make a sequel. Q) Give us a hint about what to expect from VeggieTrek 2. We hope to make Veggie Trek II a milestone ahead of what Veggie Trek I presented; with our years of experience in this field, we aspire to create a unique, original and humorous film to be enjoyed by Trek fans and non Trek fans alike. A hint about VT2 well, keep an eye out on our main page for some quotes from the next episode.
